Filming in Australia, with a director who knows how Chinese productions work.

What I do
- LocationsScouting against the script, with location packs: stills, video, access and parking.
- Local budgetsAn estimate at Australian rates.
- PermitsWorking with councils and venues on permits.
- Crew and gearA local crew and equipment, booked.
- On setMandarin and English on set, between the Chinese and local crews.
- PostConnecting with local post-production and grading.
Locations
Melbourne and Victoria have city streets, old buildings, markets, the bay and gardens. I took all the photos below.

Incentives
Australia's federal and state governments offer screen incentives, including the Location Offset, PDV Offset and Producer Offset, and Victoria's own Victorian Screen Incentive. Rates and thresholds change, so check the official guide on Ausfilm ↗
Co-productions
Australia and China have an official co-production treaty, so treaty co-productions can apply for the Producer Offset.
Crew
I work with a regular Melbourne crew, including cinematographer Chris.
